What's the hardest thing you've ever done in your life?
When you finally made it to the other side... were you the same person you were when you started?
I've been sitting with that question a lot lately.
I've spent the last few weeks thinking about LOVEDOG and where it is today. Looking at how far we've come, how far we still have to go, and taking stock of my own heart. Immersing myself in what this business really means to me — and what I hope it will mean to the people who become part of every aspect of it.
The truth is, building a business from a place of passion is not a glamorous proposition.
When you start with a dream instead of investors, every dollar comes from your own pocket. Every late night, every mistake, every lesson, every victory — you earn them, one at a time.
You become everything.
The designer.
The photographer.
The website developer.
The customer service department.
The shipping department.
The marketer.
The accountant.
The person who has to figure out SEO at midnight because you can't afford to hire someone else — while working another full-time job just to keep this dream breathing.
It takes longer. Sometimes a lot longer.
There are days you question every decision you've made. Days when the people you thought would believe in you don't. Days when you wonder if anyone else can see the vision that's so clear in your own heart.

Building LOVEDOG has changed me. It has made me more patient, more resilient, more grateful, and more determined than I ever imagined possible.
